Microneedling

Microneedling is an effective and safe treatment against various skin problems. The purpose of this treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue to smooth, firm, and tone the skin.

Microneedling treatment is therefore perfect for every skin type and almost every skin problem!

Tiny micro-channels are created in the skin by very small sterile needles that vibrate on the skin. This activates the natural recovery process deep in the skin during the microneedling treatment, so that new collagen and elastin are produced. This will ensure that the skin becomes firmer and plumper, and the skin complexion more even, fresher and more radiant. In addition, there is a better absorption of the active ingredients.

The microneedling treatment generally has a short recovery period. Depending on the treated area and the intensity of the treatment, the skin will look a bit reddish and feel warm/stinging after the treatment. In most cases, this decreases within a few hours. You will receive serum to take home to promote the recovery process of a microneedling treatment

Microneedling has gained popularity for its growing list of benefits. It rejuvenates and plumps the skin with minimal discomfort and very little downtime, and it can be adjusted to fit each person’s needs.
Benefits of microneedling can include:

  • reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • reducing enlarged pores
  • reducing the appearance of pores, or dark spots
  • smoothing uneven skin tone
  • improving skin elasticity
  • reducing the appearance of stretch marks
  • reducing the appearance of scars including acne scars
  • promoting hair growth
  • acne
  • hyperpigmentation

Microneedling is considerably less expensive than laser therapy and may work better for some people. Laser treatments involve the use of heat, which can affect your skin’s pigmentation.

  • Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring little to no downtime.
  • It’s considered safe for most people who are in overall good health.
  • The procedure may not be safe for people who use certain acne medications, or for those with moderate to severe psoriasis or eczema.
  • You can experience minor redness and irritation for a few days after the procedure

The treatment can be performed once or in a course of treatment. To achieve an optimal microneedling result 3 to 6* treatments are recommended with a treatment interval of 2-3 weeks.

* This is an average indication and may vary per person and per skin type. It can be discussed during the consultation.

After the microneedling treatment you will receive aftercare products (included in the price).

  • Direct exposure to UV rays can affect healing and results. It’s advised to use sunscreen products for at least 3 weeks to protect the skin against UV radiation. This also means no sunbed use.
  • Treat the skin gently. Do not exfoliate (scrub/peeling, for example) the skin for a few days after the treatment, until the skin has calmed down again.
  • Avoid using irritating products with perfume on the treated area.
